  • The meeting was attended by 21 members and visitors (incl committee).
  • As this was the AGM, the minutes of the previous AGM were read and approved.
  • The Chairman’s report was to be included in the next newsletter.
  • The Treasurer’s report was discussed and approved [refer to copy of the audited accounts on following pages].
  • The following officers were elected

  • It was agreed that subscriptions should be increased from $15 to $20 per year, with $4 of the increase to go into the BL Fund. This was carried with one dissention recorded.
  • There was one claim on the BL Fund for three hives destroyed during the year. The meeting agreed to pay $60 per hive as about half the cost of an A6 hive.
  • It was approved that Association cheques were authorised by the Treasurer and one of Chairman, either Vicechairman, or Secretary.
  • Various outstanding accounts were approved for payment.

Frank Lindsay outlined various remits to be discussed at the forthcoming NBA Conference in Nelson. Many reits expressed concern over various threats to the industry and suggested tighter border control. Other remits covered sponsorship, clover weevil research and development of new strains of clover.

Meeting closed at 10:00 pm with supper.
